During these sessions, we will explore how well you are currently managing the challenges you may be experiencing in your daily life. Whether these challenges are coming from the work place, from a financial perspective, at home, from a health perspective or with specific relationships in your life.
On any given day, you will experience a multitude of emotions, some of which are beneficial to your well being, and some of which are not. The biggest question to ask yourself here is, how long do you "stew" in the emotions that are not beneficial to your well-being? Do you know what those emotions are? How often do you "replay" the drama that is playing out in your life? How often do you find yourself in conflict with another? How often do you find you are angry at someone or at the world? In our sessions you will learn tools and techniques to help you better manage these stressors so that you can bounce back and return to a place of inner calm, clarity and peace.
The foundational tools that are utilized in these sessions come from the Scientific research conducted by the Institute of HeartMath®. They are combined with Intuitive knowing, my own personal growth and education as well as the level of Consciousness obtained so far.
Building Personal Resilience™ is a system of HeartMath® tools and techniques that help you to change the way your body's physiology responds to stressful situations. You will also learn tools and techniques that will help you better manage how you think about those situations so that you can easily prepare for and recover or reset from a stressful situation so that you do not continue to create and fuel additional drama. This is especially helpful if your role at work includes the need to de-escalate a situation quickly and calmly.
When you practice the techniques, automatic stress reactions will no longer dictate how you feel, react or behave, whether you are in a personal or professional situation.
Resilience mentoring/coaching is a very effective way to incorporate building resilience skills into your personal life. This will assist you in developing your self awareness, self regulation skills and your emotional intelligence so that you can 'respond' instead of 'react' to situations outside of your control.
A minimum commitment of 6 sessions in order for you to learn, discover and practice your new skill-sets for self care and personal effectiveness is highly recommended. Individuals will learn and experience much of the same content that is shared in The Resilience Advantage™ Workshop, however personal coaching sessions are customized specifically to meet the needs of the individual.
For HeartMath® training, one hour sessions are typically scheduled one to two weeks apart. You will receive a comprehensive Guide Book which includes all of the content covered in the sessions, step-by-step techniques and exercises to assist your discovery in between sessions. A Stress and Well-being Assessment is included in your HeartMath training at the commencement of your sessions and again at the completion of your coaching sessions.
The validated assessment is used to better identify your specific requirements, providing more individual focus for applying the skills, tracking your success and helping you to achieve your goals.
During our sessions we work together with both the parent(s) and your child to better understand what the current challenges are that are being experienced. This could include, anxiety, worry, anger or other emotions that perhaps are difficult for the child and parent to name and to understand 'why" they may feel this way. Children and parents will learn how to help identify the emotion that is being experienced and then both will learn tools and techniques to assist them in integrating the emotions in a healthy way in order to develop and build resilience.
Children and parent(s) will learn self regulation tools and emotional intelligence in a way that the child can understand and utilize. These are practical tools developed specifically with appropriate language that the child can understand. We also draw upon the Smart Brain Wise Heart curriculum developed by HeartMath®.
About Smart Brain Wise Heart
The Institute of HeartMath® has developed an entire curriculum to assist children in developing their own emotional intelligence and self regulation.
Smart Brain Wise Heart draws on the best of young peoples’ hearts and brains, empowering them to make smarter decisions and improve self-control, academic success and social skills. The latest heart-brain-body neuroscience helps students understand what’s happening inside themselves, and a range of fun and intelligent enrichment activities engages and challenges them. Each of the eight learning units has a video that is essential in the student's learning process.
At the heart of the program are several scientifically-validated self-regulation techniques. Each technique builds on the previous one, so that after eight weeks, students who practice, are able to increase their locus of control and self-security - essential underpinnings of mental and emotional health, supportive social relationships and academic success.
This curriculum can be purchased directly from HeartMath® where you can teach and work with your child directly if you prefer.
